Hi, I’m Joe Giebelhaus.

I moved to Berne hoping for a slower pace after three decades in public service. When I saw our town government wasn’t working, I couldn’t ignore it. I had to jump in. I’ve spent my life fixing problems and I’m ready to do it again, this time for Berne.

Joe Giebelhaus,
Candidate for Town Supervisor

Berne’s biggest challenge right now is getting its finances in order. I believe I can help this town get back on solid ground.

“Politics don’t matter to me. People do. We’re all neighbors and that’s how I’ll treat you. I bring strong leadership, common sense and real-world experience to the job. I believe in working for people, not parties, no matter how we vote.”

I was happy and grateful to be voted onto the board this year so I can begin to help our town get back on its feet, which is exactly what we’re doing.

I’m looking forward to continuing to serve and keeping up the momentum that we’re building. Berne needs stability.

During my career, where I worked up to Deputy Commissioner for the City of Albany, I’ve built and balanced large budgets, handled human resources, managed union contracts, landfill and recycling programs, construction projects, road repairs and so much more.

I’ve fought fires, floods and walked through riots. I know how to keep things moving in the toughest of times.

My first real job was walking behind a town truck shoveling black top to patch potholes in the town I grew up in — I fell in love with public service. I went on to graduate from Siena College in ‘92 with a degree in economics.

I’m a husband and a father of two daughters. My youngest just finished high school. My oldest just graduated from Siena and is starting her career in psychology and human resources.

I want to help Berne stay strong, united and true to its values — a place where neighbors still lend a hand and look out for each other.

Please Note: Democrat Joe Giebelhaus has wide-ranging support in Berne. He’s also being endorsed by the town’s Republican Committee and is running on their line as well.

Please vote for Joe on Row A to show your support.
