Don Lee & Grandkids, Candidate for Town Board

My name is Don Lee. I’ve lived in Berne my entire life.

This town has always been home for me, my wife, our two daughters and now our three wonderful grandkids.

“Getting Berne’s finances back on track is the first thing that I’ll start with. Once we’ve got a solid foundation under our feet, we can work hard on all the other things that matter to our town.”

We’ll be able to work on town services that haven’t been managed for a long time. We’ll be able to work on the Senior Center, fixing our roads, working to bring back our youth programs and so many more things that our town needs.

One of my first jobs when I was younger was working for the Town of Berne Highway Department. For the past 15 years, I’ve run my local family farm that’s been in my family for over 50 years.

The farm is not just a business, it’s a way of life. I donate a large portion of the eggs from our farm to local families.

Giving back is part of how I was raised and a big part of how I live.

I also operate a small excavating company that I started five years ago. It’s focused on helping local people with the work that they need. I’m proud of the reputation that I’ve built as someone who you can always count on and trust.

I’ve never stopped lending a hand where I can. I’ve always tried to be a good neighbor. I regularly help out elderly friends by doing things like running errands and doing handyman jobs for them — whatever they need.

When my own parents got older, I learned firsthand how much it matters to have neighbors who care when their neighbors stepped up to help them.

Both of our daughters graduated from BKW and still live close by, raising their families right here on the Hill. That kind of deep-rooted connection means a lot to us.

Berne is where I grew up, where I raised my family and where I want to give back. I care about what you need and always want to know how I can help.
